Let Yourself Get Lost

It is currently 2:06am on Tuesday. I forgot about Motivation Monday. I was getting all ready to go to bed, packing my things for my train tomorrow morning, and then I remembered: I didn’t post anything today. Today was Monday. I always post on Mondays. So I turned my laptop back on, and here I am.

The thing is, I’m currently traveling through Poland right now, and I just got so caught up in everything around me. The sights, the sounds, the history I’m learning, and the perspectives I’m getting from my Polish friend are all so fascinating that I just kind of forgot about real life. But that’s okay, because it means I’m enjoying my time and I’m inspired and I’m doing something I love, so that’s the bit of motivation I have for you this Monday Tuesday: let yourself get lost.

Let yourself get completely lost and caught up in something this week. Become engaged with your surroundings and the people in your life, and make the most of your experiences, because each moment for you will literally be “once in a lifetime.” Even if I come back to Poland, it doesn’t mean I’ll come back to these cities, to these spots, with these people. This is the only time in my life that I’m going to get this particular experience, and I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.

I know this is all a lot easier for me to say because I’m traveling, and it’s quite hypocritical given how I usually live my life (on the internet), and I’m not saying it’s a practical mindset to keep up all of the time, but if you’re reading this the odds are you’re probably at home, going about your usual day, are maybe a bit stressed about an upcoming deadline like an essay or a rent payment, and maybe think nothing about today is going to be spectacular, but let me tell you: life can be magical.

Just let it happen. x
