My traveling has ended, summer is officially upon us, and with it comes the inevitable case of the ultimate laziness possible. Seriously, I almost didn’t write this post today, I just didn’t want to.
But time doesn’t stop, and neither should your (or my) life.
So what are your goals for this summer? Have you picked them out yet? They could be as small as going for a walk every day or as big as learning a new language. Here are some of mine:
- Make working out and eating clean habitual
- Finish the 120 hour TEFL course
- Find a job for the fall
- Take a surfing lesson
- Make more videos of better quality
I can say I’ve started on the first one today, so I suppose that’s something. But again, what about you? Don’t get me wrong, summer’s great for relaxing and you’ve earned some fun, but if there’s something you were really excited to do during the school year, why not do it now? Most older adults don’t get summers off, so why should your goals, especially now that you have the time to focus on them?
I suggest starting small, with maybe one big goal and a few easier ones, AND including deadlines. Most of mine are to be done by August 31st, as after that I’ll be moving back to Canada for school; pick whatever works best for you without putting too much pressure on yourself.
Don’t cast that day planner to the side, it still has these months in it, you might as well take advantage of them. Plan a few things you’ll do each day, just be loose enough with your schedule that you can still have your summer fun with friends. Enjoy it, but don’t regret it.
Let me know what some of your goals are in the comments below! x.
